SLM Printed Aluminium Chamber Heater Duct

A purpose-built metal chamber heater duct based on the open-source Monolith SLM Chamber Heater Duct design. Designed around the common 100W and 500W PTC heater formats, these ducts provide a compact and robust mounting solution for adding active chamber heating to enclosed 3D printers.

Each duct is manufactured using Selective Laser Melting (SLM) in aluminium, allowing the complex duct geometry to be produced as a single metal component. After printing, the part is glass bead blasted to remove loose surface residue and provide a clean, uniform matte finish.

The 500W version also includes mounting plates for Voron v2.4 and Trident.

Features

SLM Aluminium Additively manufactured in aluminium for a rigid, durable and heat-resistant duct that is well suited to heated printer chambers.
PTC Heater Support Available for the common 100W and 500W PTC heater formats used in DIY chamber-heating systems.
Integrated Duct The SLM manufacturing process allows the heater mounting and airflow ducting to be combined into a compact metal component.
Glass Bead Blasted Post-processed using glass bead blasting for a consistent matte aluminium surface finish.
Open-Source Design Based on the Monolith SLM Chamber Heater Duct project, with CAD, STLs and supporting documentation published by the Monolith team. The original project files and documentation are available on GitHub.

Safety

Chamber heaters involve high temperatures and potentially hazardous electrical wiring. Appropriate thermal protection, wiring, control hardware and installation practices are required.

As specified by the original Monolith project, the heater fin temperature should always be monitored using a cartridge or M3 thermistor. Never operate a chamber heater without suitable temperature monitoring and safety controls.
